When an unexpected or untimely death occurs, it affects family members, friends, and the community. We are here to support you.

 

What is postvention?

Postvention is an organized way of responding after a death by suicide or untimely death. The purpose of postvention is to support the healing from the grief of the loss and to address the needs of those impacted.

Who are we?

The Stamford Postvention Taskforce consists of people that represent multiple organizations in the community, including first responders, mental health professionals, city officials, public and private school officials, faith leaders, funeral home directors, and health care professionals.

How can we support you?

We can connect you or someone you know with mental health or spiritual care, medical care, and other basic needs. We also provide resources to support our community after a death by suicide or untimely death.

Who is part of the Stamford Postvention Taskforce?

The Stamford Postvention Taskforce is made up of members from across agencies in Stamford, including but not limited to the City of Stamford Department of Health and Human Services, Stamford Public Schools, behavioral health providers, Stamford Police Department, faith leaders, funeral homes, and other community leaders.
