Greenwich Avenue Corridor Improvements

The Greenwich Avenue Corridor Improvements are a culmination of several community meetings aimed to relieve historical congestion issues in the Waterside Village Neighborhood. The project is comprised of three individual components when combined offer significant improvements to pedestrian, cyclist and vehicular mobility. The project includes the City’s first Roundabout at Greenwich Avenue and Pulaski Street, significant intersection improvements at Selleck Street/Southfield Avenue and Greenwich Avenue, coupled with a one-way circulator on Greenwich Avenue and Davenport Street. These three projects will be completed simultaneously to bring permanent relief to the neighborhood, while vastly improving the overall livability and quality of life along this corridor.

Greenwich Avenue / Pulaski Street Intersection Improvement (LOTCIP) Project

Greenwich Pulaski Roundabout

This project proposes a Roundabout to improve safety and reduce congestion at the existing all-way STOP controlled intersection. The project will include high visibility pedestrian crossings across all approaches and an aesthetic and vital link the adjacent Stamford Transit Center.

Greenwich Avenue - Davenport Street One-Way Circulator

This project includes converting Greenwich Avenue to one-way southbound in order to complete a one-way loop with Davenport Street. The project will provide significant capacity improvements to Greenwich Avenue. Davenport Street will be restored and repaved to improve traffic flow, a bike lane will be provided to accommodate cyclists and existing pedestrian facilities will be improved.

Greenwich Avenue One-way Conversion Public Meeting Recording

Greenwich Avenue / Southfield Avenue / Selleck Street Intersection Improvement Project

This project includes an upgrade of traffic signal hardware at this location and the addition of turning lanes on both the northbound and southbound approaches to improve capacity and reduce congestion. Additional improvements include ADA compliant pedestrian curb ramps and crosswalks across all approaches. A community parking lot will be provided adjacent this intersection to serve adjacent businesses.
